I want to thank Eastman's for the great 2 episode series for Dan Pickar's Wyoming wilderness elk hunt that aired last week and this week. I think this is what outdoor tv should be. The features of interviews of the Wyoming Game and Fish and National Park Service personnel regarding grizzly bears and wilderness areas was a great addition. Even some demonstrations were thrown in. If you missed it this time around, it will air again Feb. 15th and 22nd at 9 PM Mountain time on the Outdoor Channel.

It was very informative, but I didn't like how he hit the first bull, and failed to show proper follow-up. It was obviously a non-fatal hit, but they just kind of glazed over that part.

This was a awesome episode. The info from the wardens throughout the shows was very interesting and I enjoyed the format.

There was no blood on the arrow and the broadhead was broken out of the insert when it hit a branch of the dead tree.

I too enjoyed this 2 part series! I'd love to see more episodes like this. The only thing that would make it better is if Dan would send me a pm detailing when 'our' next hunt is...

There's a lot of choreography that goes on, especially in a professional production such as this I am sure that there is much that isn't shown or covered during the editing phase. I would hope that the other unseen guy (besides the cameraman) has a honker rifle at the ready besides the bear spray that Dan has on his hip. That said, this was an exceptional episode.

It was a great show and congratulations Dan on a great hunt. I would love to see more of those late season Cody area migration type hunts.

Thanks for bringing this up! From what I could see, the arrow hit a twig and glanced off him. I could not see the rest of the bull, only his vitals at that angle because of the hill crest when I shot. When he turned to go, I saw the arrow tumbling down the hill along him. It was weird. To this day I honestly don't know exactly what happened and don't know how I didn't kill that bull. One of the few times it left me scratching my head! Glad you guys like the episode!

I did like this episode quite a bit. I like the public land hunts, much ore relatable to me than private land. I typically don’t even watch private lands hunts. Congrats on a great bull Dan.
