One year in Wyoming when we were elk hunting we had a couple in camp, a bull and a cow as I remember. We had skinned and quartered them and the heads and hides were on a log. Came back to camp and the cow head & hide was about 15' away on the ground. The head was partially in the ground. Pulled it out and a Badger was holding it and hissing like hell. It had eaten the lower jaw and was working on the brain cavity. It was really pissed off. They are fierce critters for sure.
