Has anyone bowhunted Unit 108 in Wyoming for elk? This will be my 1st out of state hunt since I retired. I'm planning a solo hunt for a couple weeks in Sept. Looks like the only block of public land for a DIY bowhunter is the southern end of the unit. Any intel to get point me in the right direction would be appreciated. P8280070.JPG

Just curious, why did you choose to apply for area 108 without a plan? It's a great area but to make the most of the tag you really need private land access imo. Out West Safaris controls a good percentage of the area. If you are willing to pay, you will shoot a good bull.

I'm 65 and just had a couple points and threw my hat into the ring for the random draw. I figured I could bow hunt the southern part of the unit as DIY then get a guide for the rifle season if I need to. I will call the biologist and game warden and do my computer work on access. I live near Unit 40 in Colorado which is a trophy unit without much public access but have figured out how to maneuver around it. Hopefully the bulls will know no boundaries when they're breeding. I know that will change when the bullets fly. I'm pumped for a new adventure.
