Draw Results Date

Does anyone know the chance of getting the Colorado elk draw results by June 1st? I just did points last year, but I recall reading some threads on CDOW website issues last year. I saw Toprut listed June 3rd as the post date, but thought in previous years results posted in late May. I am going to be cutting it real close because I have a great chance to draw Oregon elk with 21 points, but June 1st is the last day they allow hunt choice changes. Oregon does not do tag refunds. I should have a decent chance (~20%) at my CO elk & deer so I don't want conflicting tags after waiting 20+ years. Thanks.

Don't expect anything until we are into June. I believe that last year they didn't charge the CC's until the same day that you were notified.

There used to be a backdoor way to look but they pretty much eliminated that last year.

Well this sure sucks. Hate to give up a couple 20% chances at good tags but guess I'll just hafta go where I have best odds. Wanna burn my CO points before I get caught in another system "change" that screws point holders. Only a matter of time. They already did it once to me. It seems these states don't want you to cash in, just keep you hangin so they can milk ya for every last dime. Fast turn over times would fix this but I rarely see any states shorten them.

Going back and looking at a thread from last year the CC's started to get hit for elk on 6/4.

Oregon is way down on quality right now. You will be luck to find a 330" bull.
Unfortunately, I don't think waiting for wolves to eat more elk is going to improve that. Also I'll be 60 by September and the wheels are falling off. Waiting won't help that either. I'm done building points. Time to spend them while I can.

You might have chance to get your points back in OR, I had time conflict two years ago, I sent them nice letter and I got my points back. I dont think I got refund. You need to get good reason and get to right person, I guess.

If I drew both I know I could return the CO tag, but I'm not interested in risking losing $661.

Just figure to do one state this year and the other next year.

I'm going on 66 and know about things falling apart. But some of my best hunts are still yet to come.

Risk losing $600 or risk dying before you get to burn your points?
Haha ya that’s about the reality of it huh?! Hopefully I got enough time left. I have a lot of points and my priority is always to burn those where I think the biggest target is on my back.......Preference points. The states gave a lot to gain by watering them down, and they do.

Also Colorado in the past hasn't awarded a point for the current year when you return the tag. That's what happened to me on 201 archery elk several years back. I returned the tag and I faced years to catch the pack again.

Ya there's no way I'm going to risk eating $661 AND falling back a point. That's the kiss of death given point creep in Colorado. Looks like I gotta go for just one of these tags, and that's gonna be Oregon where I should have a better chance. That draw result date change cost me a lot.
