I'm looking for a down jacket to take on my bivy hunts. Any suggestions on a good brand and "fill". I'm wanting minimal bulk with good insulation.

I have been looking for a good down jacket too. I did a search on the browning listed and found ableammo.com has them in a size small and XL for $36.99. Guess I'm gonna have to put on a few pounds or take a few off. That's a bummer, can't even buy a shirt for $36 bucks!

I bought one at Cabelas bargain Cave. Cabelas brand... Though I do not see the exact jacket on their website I beleive it is similar to their Cabelas Tech Down Jacket. The one I bought is incredibly warm for how thin it is. It stuffs down to aproximately football size and weighs next to nothing. I tested it down to zero in Montana last year. I have been impressed.

I found with the research that I did on them. It was most important to get goose down and not duck or something else. Good deals are nice but when your along way from your truck you don't want to find your equipment isn't as good as the add said it was. Good luck.

I got a mountain hardware 700 fill jacket. Not camo, just green, but it has served me well. I picked it up for $175 CDN so I can't complain about that. Camo down is too expensive for a budget guy like me.

+1 for Montbell Down Inner. Love mine. packs down to nothing and is super warm. I ware it under my camo shirt in the mornings and evenings. Works perfect.

We sell alot of the Montbell jackets. I love my Montbell Down inner jacket. It's 850 fill and only weights 7 ounces. Its the perfect mid layer for sleeping in and for being around the fire at night. Retail is 155.00

look at Montbell, or Mountain hardware's Nitrous, or the Marmot Zeius, or the First Ascent down light all are great jackets and not to bad for price. I've found the First Ascent jacket for sale in Eddie bauer at some stores for $ 50 in July when they are trying to get rid of them, usually retail for $ 170

I just picked up a Sierra Designs 850 fill. I went with black because the other colors aren't very hunter friendly. The nice thing is it comes with its own stuff sack and stuffs down to the size of a softball. It is going to work well under my camo shell. Hope this helps.
