Fink I think you live just on the other side of KC from me.$225 archery tag, OTC. The tag is good for 2 deer and 2 turkeys. You could shoot 2 'any deer' before our gun season (11/15-11/25), or you can shoot a buck before gun season, and then use your remaining tag on a buck after the season.
Most of the public spots will be about worthless after the gun season, all the pressure really burns them out. But.... I may or may not know of several areas that are virtually undisturbed right up until the gun hunt. Let me know if you're interested.
Sounds like a Fourm swap a hunt.Perhaps a trade is in order? We have a few decent bucks in Kansas
Propping up on pack works pretty well. I was uphill from the camera so it made it a little easier. If I have a tripod I'll use it but didn't have one on this hunt.Great buck and good job on the pics. Tripod for the camera?
Yeah he was a toad for sure. Another buck came in with him that may have scored better (in pic) but I couldn't take him with the older deer there. Plus he stepped into the open firstTdcour.....that's a dandy buck. I can't get over the body on that Mid western pig of a deer haha. Super nice!! Great score for an 8 to boot. Congrats!
I agree completely. I know there are people hunting close by so I'm just hoping they don't have a chance at him. If he does get taken I guess I'll have to find a new buck to drool over! That's the kind of buck you really hope breaks a main beam this year so nobody wants to shoot him and he is still around next year. He will really be cool in a year or two. I put pics of mine up on the trail cam thread a few days back. I think he must have got injured last year and had a messed up side, but this year it straightened out and he added inches. If the genetics are good letting deer get to 4.5 but especially 5.5yrs old makes a huge difference.
200 lbs is a crap load from a WT! How does it taste with beef added?Best of luck MM! The freezer is officially full again from that guy. I got almost 200 pounds of meat back from him with some beef added to the burger. Dude was definitely a toad!
