Overall I think it sucks, I paid the fees for 20 plus years and now its almost like free points. This will be especially true for moose, sheep and goats. It was already a real long shot to draw, now it will be a total crap shoot. Just your little poll is a 29% increase and I bet it is more like 50%. The state will bank big bucks off this and the fact is they don't care because they will sell as many licenses as they are willing to. Also they could care less if you waited 20 years or 1 year to draw. I also see more pressure being put on OTC tag areas and the real possibility OTC tags will someday be gone as they to will fall into a draw as well. This has nothing to do with hunting or quality of hunting. Just grow numbers of would be hunters and dollars.

I guess for me I don't understand why it would matter.

If you don't have a couple hundred bucks laying around for them to hang onto for a month you probably can't afford to hunt.

It's more like a few grand when your a non resident applying for all species. It's going to make draw odds way worse especially for MSG in about 3 years. Then they will start with preferance point fees once they've got you "in the game".

I'm sure its closer to 50% more people will be applying for points from my discussions.

On another note if If I paid Colorado Resident fees instead of my Non-Resident fees I would really feel like it was a free license lol

Even just applying in my own state would have cost me almost $600 which isn't that bad. My brother who applied here as a non-res would have had to front almost $4000 with his app.
I do think a lot more people apply when not having to front the fees and lower drawing odds.

I agree Gr8. I have applied in the past and thought it was not the "norm" to up front the fees like other states, but it didn't stop me from doing so. I didn't do it every year due to that, but it's an easier process now.

It sure is much easier to apply when I don?t have to put the cash upfront but I still do. Wyoming elk is the hardest for me. Slow time of year at work and $1500 can be tough for me.

I was looking to get out of elk and deer in Colorado with in the next few years... But plan on sticking around a little longer... With out fronting the whole tag amount kept me in the game....

I have points for everthing except for MT goat. I did apply this year for the 3 dollar fee. I'm sure odds will be steep if you burn your points this year and have to start over again next. especially will change draws odds for deer
