My wife had both tags. With my luck I only drew doe tags. We didn't start hunting until the middle of Oct. She shot her antelope buck the first day, he went a little under 14". The antelope were already in big herds and were pretty spooky. She didn't tag a buck deer. We saw several does but not near as many bucks as we've seen in the past. We actually only saw one buck in 4 days.

We hunted elk up there. Out of 7 - 8 days of hunting, I think we only saw 3 - 4 bucks. Wouldn't be surprised if the G&F doesn't cut tags back like they've done in some of the other central WY area's...

I know in the proposal for 2014, they had cut the tags back quite a bit. Not sure if they did or not though.

I feel like a guy should just go to Region G or H for Wyoming deer........

Not sure exactly why we didn't see more bucks. The year before we saw probably 15-20 bucks and only hunted a couple of days. Lots more rain and the grass was way taller than usual. I'm not so sure they weren't there, just more places to hide.

I think you hit it on the head regarding weather conditions. This was the best year I've ever seen out there in over 20 years for good forage and all the old timers said the same thing. The animals just didn't have to move much for good feed this year and that also made them more nocturnal because it took them a lot less time to fill their bellies than in past seasons when they'd be out earlier in the PM and out longer in the AM. It was the same way down in Texas over the years depending on weather and forage. Those bucks you saw a year earlier were probably still in the area, but just weren't moving during hunting hours because of the positive changes to the forage available.
