Silverado Canyon....love it. That's not far from where I live. Plenty of lions out there now...not many deer. CC you have hunted all over this great state!
Born there in 1941 (4th generation) and I believe I got to hunt (and fish) during some of the best years .....50s & 60s. About the only area I really never hunted is the NW part above the bay area. We used to get 6 weeks for the late season deer season. One closing weekend our party of 23 got 22 bucks in the Bridgeport area. I hunted birds (pheasant, quail, chukar, doves, bandtails and waterfowl) all over the state. I used to hunt quail by Lake Mathews about an hour from home. To many houses and developement now. Used to be 5 trap ranges in the greater LA area, plus several rifle ranges (one in Silverado). During the 70's, my wife and I knew we wanted to live somewhere elso where there were less people.
It was not easy to leave. I went to college there, worked there and all my family and friends too. I remember these great times. I didn't even mention the fishing. Had a big boat and spent probably 15 to 20 weekends a year on it fishing and diving at Catalina and in Baja. But I love Colorado now. Staying here till I'm gone!!
