Looking for some feedback here on what to do and not to do about CWD from some of you guys who live in states that have had CWD for years. It was announced that CWD was found in a cow elk in Arkansas that was killed back in October. My fear is our Game and Fish commission will overreact and start killing deer / elk left and right. What should be done in your opinion?

Illinois has taken a very aggressive approach to CWD that was discovered in the northern counties bordering Wisconsin. The state has hired sharpshooters and have tried to eradicate deer from those counties. CWD has continued to spread however and has been found in something like 10 northern counties. Guys that hunt those areas are furious. On the otherhand, Wisconsin has done nothing. I'm not sure what the right thing to do is. At this point CWD cannot be stopped, perhaps it can be slowed down.

Probably not a bad idea to thin the area down in case the genetic disposition theory is correct. There's a live test available, but it's a more expensive approach to getting a good sample size.
