Had a Davis wall tent and will say they make a heck of a tent, but wanted just a few things different. Beth is a gal I graduated with and she lives up in basin, WY now and does custom canvas work and repairs. In a few conversations she told me that it would be no problem to make me the tent to the exact designing wanted. I got the tent yesterday got my poles made today, and am very happy with the results. If anyone wants a custom made tent pm me and I'd be happy to give you her contact.

Looks pretty sweet. Could you take pics of the inside?
I will, next time I get it set up. The style I had made was a cross between a range tent and a square tent so there is a center pole, then one pole per corner. 5' side walls, I had the door put in by the corner to not waste floor space, then had the stove jack put in right in front of that. Like I said she can make it how ever you want.

Looks great, now you'll have to test it out in the elements!
Is made from the treated canvas that's waterproof, mildew resistant so it should be good in weather. She's got tents out there that are 15 years old and still going strong so I think quality is probably not an issue.

What are you finished dimensions on this? I really like the concepts you came up with. I have an 8x10 with an internal frame that is great if it's just me then a buddy and I picked up two 16x14 forest service surplus tents this summer but the sides are only 3 1/2 feet. My biggest complaint is set up time on them especially when I am by myself. This looks like it would go up quick!

I don't mind the middle pole, the corner poles make a world of difference, im still using one that has a pole up middle, no corner poles looks like top half of a square, impossible to set up alone! so ready for an upgrade, things been in family for eons.

The one I had made is 12x12. Once I had the poles cut to the right length and I set it up the second time it took about 15 minutes by myself, just taking my time. I just used 1" electrical conduit then put end caps on it so it doesn't tear up the tent, very light but sturdy poles. She also put steel D rings in above all the poles so it can go poleless if I needed to, and all the seems have seat belt material sewn in them all the way around which makes it near impossible to tear.

how was the price compared to competitors like Montana Canvas?
It's hard to compare it straight up against another tent because I couldn't find one exactly like this, especially with the extra seat belt fabric, D rings, the simply pole system, and actual 5'sides. There are defiantly some out there that are kind of close, but not like I wanted. Anyway back to it the one that was kind if close to what I wanted was only 2' side walls and was $150 more than this one cost me so cheaper and she has a lifetime craftsmanship warranty also.

I have a Cabelas Alaknak with similar dimensions. Fabric only is 38 pounds. Poles are 30 #
