I agree. I would hate to have that many points to have the rules changed on me. Are the top units really that much better than the average units in arizona? I drew either 3b or 6a with two points early archery. I've got a good idea about 6a. I don't know much about 3b? Any insight on the unit? It looks to me, it's kinda of a urban type hunt with lots of roads, subdivisions, etc. Just not a lot of info on the unit. Looks like all the best areas are south of hwy 60. Hopefully it's a decent hunt if I draw it. Good luck to everyone that's drawn so far!

Thomas11,
In my opinion....no... the average units still produce some really good bulls. They are just harder to find. If you are DIY hunter from out of state then it is even harder because you don't have time to pattern the big bulls.

I don't know anything about unit 3b, but if you get the 6a hunt I can point you to a few places. I live close to 6a and have hunted there a few times. We can PM some information as the summer progresses.

I'll be very interested to hear how your hunt goes. I could draw that tag any year, but was warned it was difficult.
Yeah, I finally got tired of chasing the rifle tags, and wouldn't you know it, my buddy drew a 9 rifle tag in the random draw (my first choice) this year. I am not very lucky myself drawing random tags, and with the potential 50/50 change looming on the horizon next year, I decided to drop down and burn my 17 points on the archery tag. With all the new restrictions on the Boquillas Ranch (no blinds, sitting water, etc) this could be a very tough hunt for sure. For that reason, I am probably going to be enlisting some help on this once-in-a-lifetime hunt to include access to private land where I could sit water if that's what it takes to fill my tag with stick and string...

I drew a unit 27 sept bull tag for the second year in a row! Couldn't believe it! And last year was my first ever elk app, both drawn with 1 bp... Don't kill me! I ate tag soup last year though so I get a chance at redemption this year!
