I should draw a muzzleloader tag for elk for the units 17 and 161 or at least those are the units I'm focusing on. I'm having a hard time deciding which unit to choose. Looking at harvest reports unit 17 has really low harvest stats and very few bulls being harvested during the muzzy season. Anyone know the reason for that? Seems like it should be a good unit, I realize how the stats might be scewed a little, but consistently the last 5 years that unit seems to have a low harvest stat. Just wondering if anyone has any insight on unit 17 on why the harvest is low. Pm s are welcome if you don't want to discuss openly.
By the way I'm not deciding where I'm hunting based off harvest stats, I've done extensive escouting on both units. I have potential camp sites and hunting areas mapped out also in both units pending which one I choose. This summer I'm planning on visiting both units during my vacation
