I thought it was interesting, worth watching at least.
The canned hunts they showed, perhaps were the worst version of those in SA? but those looked horrible, that "hunter" holding his beer and smoking a cigarette, while his gf/wife is there at their spa safari? killing a croc from a pond etc... not much of a hunt/hunter IMO. To save money and hunt in a zoo, no thanks, not for me.
I was undecided on whether selling rhino horn was a good idea, but that rhino guy is going poor trying to protect the rhino, and like the judges in SA were saying...either way the horn is going on the market... might as well be the rhino guy earning the $$ vs. the black market.
They only touched on it for a second, but if a local african farmer etc... has his livestock killed by a lion etc... and doesn't get compensated for that...? what do you expect them to do? they can poach a rhino for $$$, vs. starve/no jobs etc...
I'm sure there is some gov't corruption regarding hunting tags etc... in some countries, however banning hunting doesn't seem like the way to fix this.
Progress, not perfection. Let's keep improving the system, more animals, more to hunt.
Didn't seem like a total hit job on the hunting industry IMO.
