Going to have to go with the Super Cub on that one AKaviator, mostly due to fond memories.

The first photo is from just over ten years ago, when my son and best friend, Jim, took my old Cub for a joyride. The last picture, taken this morning on Lake Washington, is of my now 21 year-old-son working on his own float-rating in a much fancier Cub at Kenmore. I think he took a lesson in a 172 on floats today as well.

We splurged a little, and he is actually getting a one-hour lesson in a Beaver tomorrow.

My Dad was Superintendent of Manufacturing on the Mustang assembly line during WWII. They wouldn't take him in WWII as his job was too critical.

Gordie Howe was the GOAT and no North American hockey player compares.....and he was a gentleman. The Russian equal would be Slava Fetisov. Gretzky would tell you the same thing, and he has stated it publicly, look up Gretzky interviews where he gushes about Howe, it's legit.

As an aside, when I was a kid starting work in mold making we had a pantograph operator who loved telling the story about going to the Olympia and seeing Terry Sawchuck take a slapshot to the forehead. Goalie wore a ball cap then. Sawchuck was frozen, then the blood gushed out over his face, then he slowly tipped forward and fell on his face. Sawchuck was an absolute beast.
