Caus We Could All Use Some Velvet..

Got a bit of time and put together a fuzzy video of some the bucks from this past year. Or on another snowy day - looking forward to lazy days in August spent on the mountain hiking basins fishing and looking for bucks. Kinda takes a bit to put them together but I also post a some of them that come through more clear on IG - jahvea1 -

I kept the bucks together and in chronological order or some of the bucks are from early July up until about mid august and just amazing the inches they put on August. All of them were filmed this year or July/Aug 2018.

dang man, some smokers in there! On a side note... I'm looking for a new high country spot. I'm not looking for your honey hole, just some GPS directions to some of these deer lol

Ridge - man some real good looking bucks as usual! Good luck in your search this year.

Tc - Thx and there is no rhyme or reason for where the big guys end up. This past year some places the bucks were down considerably while in others it was about the same to up. I feel and the general conciseness from the guys I talk with as well as shed hunters who compare year to year size of bucks is that growth was down about 10-15" due to the drought last year.

I didn't realize growth was down that much last year. When we went with muzzy last year the deer were already transitioning pretty low into the timber. Hopefully this year we get a good year to keep them high for a while if I can draw another muzzy tag! We are trying another spot this year to see if has a better opportunity for shorter distance shots. Last year it was really tough to get within even muzzy distance where we hunted. We saw some smokers last year, but since it was our first year in the unit we didn't have anything to compare them to.
