You can draw any of those tags 2nd choice. DO NOT burn your points on them! You can draw 2nd choice and still keep your points. I think public land and access is not very good in those units. I have them crossed off of my list of potential 2nd choice antelope units due to lack of public land/access. Check this link out. You can get a good idea of the public land in an area from the preview maps and sometimes its better to order your map from them if the unit your hunting is split up onto several different BLM maps.

Thanks for the link. I've ordered from them before for KY and OH. But never thought about it for WY.

That's what warps my brain. Those areas are littered with BLM and state land. I know a bunch of it is probably land locked. But the BLM maps show roads going right through a bunch of them. Are you not allowed to pull off the road park and hunt? I mean area 64 looks like a checkerboard of BLM land. Just like you hear people talking about it being farther west of where I am talking about.

2nd choice is why I am looking here. And its proximity to Denver Air.

You can hunt on any BLM or state land you can access. Some roads on the maps that cross private land may not be public roads and you cant use them for access and its hard to tell on the map. I have run into roads I thought I could use and they ended up being closed. To hunt units with poor access you will have to find an area of BLM you can get to from a public road and most likely do alot of walking. Areas you can only walk into can be good if your willing to walk in a few miles where most arent will to walk to. My honest opinion is either of those units would be a tough hunt without having private land to hunt.

I see. Well that could be an issue for sure. I do have a little help in Antelope unit 38 from a local I have been talking to. But deer is a different story. I sure appreciate the help. I'm going to call the rest of the land owners on this list and see where that gets me too.
