Well I guess it really wasn't mine till I got my hands on him but I'm still bummed out. I have been watching this buck for 3 years waiting to draw the tag. I drew it this year and had high hope on taking him home this year but another lucky hunter out smarted him and killed him this week with a muzzle loader tag. Congrats to him. I'll find another one.

Those smoke pole guys will take a buck right out from under you every time. lol I would be bummed after watching that guy for 3 years too but Im sure its because there is a bigger buck up there for you to get in your season!

On the positive side of things, I'm guessing that by reaching this age, he has spread his genes all around. Hopefully many more beautiful non-typical giants will show up in the coming years.

Bummer, that is a beautiful buck. It sure would have been nice seeing photo's of you holding those antlers. My money is still on you finding a better one soon!

That sucks! All part of the game though I guess. Seems like you have still been putting in the hard work and weren't just sitting back waiting for this guy. I'm sure you will shoot a monster! Do you know the guy who shot him? I would love to see the pics of that buck on the ground. Good luck Trent!

That sucks and I know how you feel. I just wish I knew what happened to the one I watched for 3 years.

From 2010 - 2012 I watched a whitetail grow from a nice 4x4 muley looking rack to a non-typical giant 15 pt. I have my last pic of him Oct 27, 2012. After that I have no idea what happened to him and everyone I talk to don't know either.

Thanks all. There are more. I've been scoutting the area since June and I've seen a lot of great bucks. I'll find one that trips my trigger soon.

Sorry for your loss. I know how you feel, someone poached a very big buck off of our property in California's X5A. We had been hunting him for years with no luck. Another rancher said he heard a shot after the season was over and we never saw the buck again, but did find a gut pile where the buck was known to be seen.

Maybe he'll have trouble with his refridgeration unit keeping all that deer meat cold and you could leave a dead fish sitting atop his compressor.......

Is that the buck a former Eastman's employee and another TV guy is posed with in a pic that has started circling the internet?

Don't think so. This guy is not or ever has been with Eastmans. I have photos of him with this deer but I don't have his permission to post here so you guys can see him.

Different deer then, from memory I thought it looked similar, but missing that larger kicker/spur.

Hilltop, check out Epic Outdoors FB page, should be first pic.
