Bummed out. Another guy killed my buck

Definitely a great buck, after watching him for so long I know your sick ! Things seems to work sometimes keep looking for the other bigger one he may have your name on him !
Thanks! I kinda have gotten over the disappointment. It happen for a reason so whatever that my be I look forward to it.

Sharing the same disappointment as all the others, hopefully the other Hunter that shot the deer, takes ten years to draw another tag, cause now he knows where to find big bucks, hope he's not a blabber mouth about where he shot it.

In my case I was the other guy. The guy that had been watching my buck is a friend now. He had been chasing 'Torch' that's the name Del gave the buck for three years. He was gracious when I harvested the buck, he sent me photos of the buck as it grew over the three years he was watching him, that was cool to see his growth year by year. Del has since made up for not harvesting my deer by putting an arrow in a buck that if his score holds up it will be the #6 typical ever taken with a bow in Utah. (public land, the same area I killed my buck in)

So sorry, Trent. All the rest of this talk might help soften it up. But, a buck like that doesn't come along very often.
Your rite Mike. That was the biggest bummer is to see that caliber of deer does not happen very often at all. I've only seen three bucks in the 200" class.

I knew that there was a good archer that knew about him and this guy that took him with a muzzy tag. I also knew that he was hunting him too. This guy did his homework and out smarted that buck so I give kudos to him for getting such a cool deer. There are more great bucks there and I have plenty of time to find one. I'll be looking for number two on my list now and who knows maybe I'll run into this bucks grand daddy.

I had to laugh at my misfortune last weekend and immediately thought of this thread.
We decided to just hunt the weekends for a 10 day buck season. By the end of the first weekend, I had found my big buck bedding area tucked up against a north facing cliff. We bailed out of work early the next Friday to try to get an evening hunt in. After packing in 4 miles, we heard a shot right over the hill in front of us within a few hundred yards of our campsite.
My brother ended up going down the hill and chatting with a couple guys that just took a great 4x4 buck. I was busy back tracking those big ass buck tracks about a 1/2 mile right to the bedding area I was going after.
You just have to laugh sometimes and wonder if you could have hiked faster, drove faster , or whatever.
I will find one there next year I hope.

That had to sting a bit having the tag but someone beating you to get that buck Trent. I hope you get a bigger one though on a future adventure.

I was thinking something like that when 2 4 wheelers showed up the first thing the first morning of my hunt. lol
