Nice bull. You could check with Tex Creek Antlers, 5900 E Sunnyside Rd, Ammon, Idaho. Phone: 208 403 3140. They buy and sell all types of antlers.

there's no way they would pay for the mount though, not enough at least. I think my best bet is to take it to a shop in Jackson Wyoming come tourist time, some rich guy that doesn't hunt but wants one in one of his summer homes would be they guy that pays the mula. my brother is selling it, I told him not to but his new woman has changed him:rolleyes: I may just buy it off of him, that was a fun hunt and I cant believe he wants to sell it. he deff doesn't need the money.

Yeah, the Jackson Hole Wyoming idea may be the best bet. For me, I just can't imagine selling one of my mounts. They just mean too much to me. I recently gave away a set of deer antlers on a plaque to a family member...even that was hard! LOL!

If your brother doesn't need the money, why don't you have him give it to you for safekeeping at your house. That way you can enjoy the elk mount until he decides he wants it back (or not)...

hahaha, that same thought crossed my mind several times Horniac, wont hurt to ask him but not the type of guy he is. good guy but when he can make money on something he is going to every time. what I should do is offer him a smaller amount and when I shoot a bigger one this year just change out the antlers:) I could never sell my mounts. I gave away my first bull I ever shot, it was just a small 5X when I was young, and me being dumb and young, shot him in the head to finish him, my dad looked at me and said did ya learn anything????? I was confused and when we started dragging it to the 4 wheeler I felt the antler break away from the skull cap, I stopped, looked at him and said, yup! regret getting rid of those, haven't ever since. to many memories....

I got offered 5 grand for one of my deer and turned the guy down, my wife is still mad over it. Don't know that I could ever sell one of my mounts, everything has a price though.

I had never mounted anything, then on a trip west got a very nice 320" bull elk. Now I can't stop. I never cared much for "trophies", but now realize that they are inspiration for the memories. Every one has a story. Maybe no one else wants to hear it anymore, but everything I mount is special to me. Hence, they don't mean much to anyone else. The overflow is taking over my woodshop, but when I run out of projects can just stare at the wall.074.jpg

I'm the same way RICMIC! I save all my "trophies" even if they don't have the inches to be considered a trophy by anyone else. I can look at one and it takes me back to the time and place of the hunt, the friends and family I hunted with, and the special memories associated with each hunt. Some of my most treasured mounts are not my top "trophies" by the tale of the tape. You have a nice shop and some awesome horns RICMIC, but with all that fancy woodworking equipment I thought you would have cranked out a little fancier plaque for that set of muley horns - haha!

Horniac; the fancy ones are in the house. I get too much sawdust on everything in the shop, so only have euro mounts or skull plates out there. I plan on a pronghorn shoulder mount after this fall, but am still in negotiations with my wife on where it will go. How about over the fireplace?004.jpg

Luckily my wife tells me don't shoot it unless it can go on the wall, but even the small bucks and bulls get kept just so I can look at them and remember the memories.

Thanks 6mm. I have added cedar shakes to the roof, and it will be donated to our local snowmobile club for its annual fundraiser. Sorry to hijack your thread Ivorytip.
