What's the point of being able to shoot animals on the cheap if it will be overly expensive to bring home the trophies? Not to mention the very expensive flights there and back.
The experience. I should of said that it gets expensive if you want full mounts. Just like here in the states more and more hunters are opting in for euro mounts due to space and cost.

Have you price out getting a moose head mounted or the antlers shipped back here to the US and then mounted? Not to mention what a bear cost.

You can still go to Africa and hunt 8 animals and bring them home and mount them for the cost of one Kodiak bear hunt.

I would love to do a stone sheep hunt. Something I've always dreamed about. Doubt that it will ever happen now as my legs are about done and my wallet is empty. I hit the lotto and got a California Bighorn in Nevada back in the 90's. I found that sheep hunting can be very addictive !

I've got a handful of big mule deer and would love to get more but I'm happy. I'm more into giving back now. Got my Godson on a big B&C buck and that was quite a thrill.

But that stone sheep hunt...

Greenheads in timber is a blast when the cup from 150' up and then just float down. Unfortunately that can be a 10 minute limit bc you have to be a terrible shot to miss many like that.

I've shot them in the timber here, on the rare occasions where we get enough water to flood some woods.. but, I really want the whole Arkansas experience, especially that boat ride in skinny water through hundreds of acres of pin oaks.

I actually keep a bucket list, try to get it up to 100 items but not quite there yet. Life is too short not to do the things you really want.

Some of the hunting/fishing items already checked
Halibut
Blue Marlin
Moose
Wild boar

Top remaining items
Respectable elk
Mountain lion
DIY tuna
DIY shark (thresher or mako) - very close last year, I am thinking it will happen this summer :)
Alaska float trip

The last lease I was on had a series of oxbows/swamp that fed the experimental seed orchards. My deer stand sat up against where one of the spillway sloughs flattened out in a big white oak flat. They'd load up, but had to let it get cold to miss out on the cottonmouths & gators.

Fink I need to help you find a place. I think it is going t be easy. I have friends that go every day in the white River area near Agusta.
I'd appreciate that! I mostly just need to pack up and head down and do it.. I've been talking about it for far too long, and never end up going. Knowing current water levels would be helpful, I'd hate to get down there and be hunting the same 100 acres with everyone else!

Also, keeping on track with the thread, I've updated my bucket list to include my Wyoming elk tag, before it costs me $3k after tags and points are added up.
