Putting together a list of hunts/adventures to achieve with a friend and hopefully get a lot in with my father as well. Just wanted to see what everyone had on their list, or thoughts. Only been out west (MT) once and absolutely loved it. I'm hooked!

Alaska - Brown Bear
Yukon- Moose
SD- pheasants
Iowa - Whitetails
As many camping/hunting trips in the Rockies as possible!

I'd love to do some sort of backwoods float/canoe trip, any suggestions?

You better have a deep pocket. You'll need a guide for that brown bear at $15,000+ along with that Yukon moose tag at about the same as the bear unless you plan on doing it yourself.

You really need to look at a African safari. You can go over for plains game for less than any of the hunts for bear or moose here in North America. I took 8 animals for $6,000. It didn't get expensive until I decided to bring home the trophies.

I'm in.... These are on my bucket list.

A respectable bull elk
A good mule deer
A good mess of walleyes ( I know, no big deal to some of you but I've never caught or eaten one. I hear they're good )
A bluefin tuna

Don't have much of a bucket list for fishing. Had a big boat when I lived in SoCal and fished offshore and Mexico a lot. Only thing I never caught is a Broadbill Swordfish. I would like to catch a big rainbow, largest so far is 6#. Have caught lakers and big browns.

Hunting...that's a different story. I want a bull elk in the 375 range and a big Alaskan moose and caribou. I've already got a 190" buck mule deer and an 80" antelope. Like to get a sheep too, but probably never happen as I am just too damn old to climb the mountains to get to them. I am planning a free range buffalo hunt with my 45-70 Sharps with black powder in the Nebraska sand hills.
Don't have any desire to hunt out of North America, so I'm pretty good with what I've done in my 75 years.

Badams, if your looking for a float/ backwoods canoe trip, might wanna look into the BWCA in northern Minnesota. Can't get much more backwoods then that!!

Don't really have a bucket list, never really did.

I really have exceeded any expectations I may have had for hunting, been so fortunate, I feel guilty. Wouldn't seem right, or appropriate, to ask for more.

Find myself advocating and volunteering my time to ensure the future of the sport, public lands, and science based wildlife management these days as much, or more, than I do hunting. I still manage 30-50 days a year hunting though.

My bucket list would be the hope that others get to experience the things I have, and to give back as much as my time and resources allow.

In order of how soon I think I can do them:

pheasants in SD or KS
Good looking fox and coyote
180+ typical mule deer (I'm tired of passing on 150-160 bucks)
150 whitetail with a bow, doesn't matter what state (I've arrowed a lot for meat but it's time to put one on my wall)
80" antelope
cinnamon black bear with a bow
325 elk
caribou
mountain lion - full body mount (after the house is paid off)
Dall's sheep in either Yukon or NWT (ditto)
Brown bear (ditto)

I spend my summers as a canoe guide in the BWCAW, it's only 50 miles from my little cabin in the woods. A 2,000 mile trip from Lake Superior to Hudson's Bay in 2018 will finally be undertaken. I've talked about doing that since I was 17 when I spent 3 months in the BWCA (alone) before I joined the Marine Corps.
As far as hunting; A 180"+ mule deer is my most desired critter
mountain lion
caribou
**I didn't include the fantasy animals that would take a lotto win to hunt. A bucket list has to be at least in the
possible realm.

My most important at this point is to help my wife, kids and grandkids have memorable outdoor experiences. I get far more excited seeing them be successful than I do on any of my hunts.

This is where I am at personally:

#1 A big, heavy, thick, gnarly dark brown antlered red stag from New Zealand.

#2 A heavy, massive antlered Roosevelt bull elk (nearly impossible to pull off on public land in Oregon)

#3 To top my 367 bull elk (guided) and do it DIY (have the points in AZ and UT to possibly pull it off)

#4 Draw the AZ strip and tag a take solid representative buck for that area (have max points)

#5 Catch a 200+ pound yellowfin tuna on a San Diego long range trip.

#6 DIY B&C antelope (have the points for AZ and WY to possibly pull it off)

What's the point of being able to shoot animals on the cheap if it will be overly expensive to bring home the trophies? Not to mention the very expensive flights there and back.

Should be able to pull that off, just make sure you get the right boat. I've got 5 over 200, my best was 265.
