Bucket List Black Bear

After three fall hunts and two spring hunts, I finally got a DIY Wyoming black bear!

At age 67, I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to happen. The mountains are getting taller every year.

I just got the tooth aging results back for my black bear. According to the Game and Fish lab, she was 11 years old and had had at least three sets of cubs...a couple of nice little tidbits to add to my memories of the hunt.

Congrats on a great hunt, you are 100% correct when you say that baiting is hard work. I bear hunt every year and it is a chore and I am not in the mountains.
