Bowstring off

My brother-in-law who KNOWS EVERYTHING dry fired my bow and the bowstring came off the wheel. I'm thinking if I draw back the bow and attach a small ratcheting strap while bow is drawn too keep limbs down I will be able to put string back on wheel.
What do you guys think?

I would take it to a shop and place it on a press...... good excuse to have them do a quick check to make sure there is no damage.

If you go with the original plan....... have your brother-in-law do it!!!!

I would take it to a shop, they can check it over.

Yep there could be a small crack in the limb that could cause failure or a long list of other things. Plus improperly pressing your bow is a big no no and can also cause damage. Take it to a shop to be safe.

Strongly agree with the gentlemen above. Take you bow in. Even if you "fixed" it yourself you would be wondering if there were issues going forward.

Before you take it in to the shop tell your dummy BIL that he''ll be getting the bill, especially if there is any damage and there may well be.

Better yet tell your Bro in law after you go to the shop he can have your bow and he HAS to buy you a new one
