Im making the final arrangements for another traveling bowhunt. This time its to the Limpopo Province of South Africa for a late August/Early Sept. trip for a week of hunting several species.

This trip like most of my other traveling, bow hunts will be centered around further testing of new bowhunting gear Ive spent a lot of time designing.

I just got back from the 2020 ATA show where a bowhunting accessory I spent nearly 2 years designing was named one of a few named "Best in Show, Breakthrough Innovation" and Im hoping to use this item during all my bow hunts up to and including the African hunt.

Right now, Im focusing on wildebeest, blesbok, impala and warthog but will add additional species once I arrive. In advance of this trip Im planning other traveling hunts to do proof of concept testing on other bowhunting gear. I'll keep a journal of the prep and planning and the hunt.

I visited my bank to do a wire transfer of funds to the African bank used by the outfitter Im bowhunting with. The teller filled out the forms and before she handed it to me to sign, she asked the purpose and reason for me sending this amount of money to an African bank. I thought this was odd since its my money so I asked her why I would need to justify or explain what I do with my money, she told me that the wire transfer needs approval before it can take place.

I told her I got an email from the son of a Nigerian Prince that is going to transfer a large amount of money into my bank account but he needed me to send him several thousand dollars first. Then I laughed and told her Im going on a traveling bow hunt to Africa and Im paying down a portion of the hunt. On the form she wrote "Hunting trip". I signed it and actually had to wait for somebody at the bank to approve the wire transfer.

Next up is meeting with my Travel agent for the airline tickets.

I was applying for Idaho moose the other day and my bank card was declined. I forgot there was a daily limit on the account so I had to call the bank (credit union) the have the limit removed. There is a daily limit of $2k. When I asked the bank lady to remove the limit she agreed but asked what I was spending the money on. I laughed and replied, "really?, Why do you need to know what I'm spending my money on?" She said something to with security purposes.
Seems like the grip is slowly getting a little tighter.

I think that Stay Sharp's plans have been altered quite a bit. South Africa is shut down right now with no opening in sight.

Right now that August/September time frame might be doable but I wouldn't count on it.

On another forum a lot of those that have hunts in Africa booked for this year are rescheduling to next year or later.

Airline tickets for my South African Bowhunt were booked months ago. Paid in full via Delta. Friday, I got word from my travel agent and Delta is not flying to Africa any more so they are issuing me a refund.

I then texted the African outfitter and he said not to book another flight with another carrier until after July 15 when their Parliament will either announce the end of the lockdown or an extension of the lockdown.. I do a lot of traveling bow hunts and every traveling hunt comes with adventure and a story.

The Rona has really cut into my hunts in the last 4 months but Im going to be targeting some whitetail does in a week or so in either Wisconsin or Mich to test a new bowhunting product Ive spent 2 years designing. Despite killing 15 deer with a bow last season I donated all of them to local families so I didn't can any venison

Tags for does in July in Wisconsin and Michigan?? Sure seems like those fawns would be pretty dependent on momma still.

South Africa is starting to open up a little. On another forum for African hunting there are folks that are now starting to get their plans set for next year and a couple that are starting to look at flights.
