Well it looks like I finally out ran the point creep. I've been to this unit with my brother during the late rifle a few years back, but I know this will be quite a bit different. I'm still kind of in shock I actually drew, because I thought I'd draw the last two years and didn't:)

Congrats! Wooooooo Hoooooo! That is gonna be a blast! Remember you can use a 1X scope in UT. We went with an Aimpoint with a 2 MOA dot on my wife's deer hunt in Utah a couple years ago.

Thanks Jim, I'll check in to that. Did she feel it made a noticeable difference over a peep sight?

I know the area pretty well. Took a nice archery bull off it a few years back. Send me a message and I can give you spots where I would look. Are you going to get any scouting in?

Love the red dot scopes. 10 years ago we had magnification restrictions here in Nebraska so I used a red dot. There are some very nice options out there.

I have a good buddy over in the Book Cliffs right now and he said the moisture is making the antler growth look fanominal and he's seeing tons and tons of elk. You should have an awesome hunt, keep us posted. Good luck!!

Great tag. Elk hunters bull was pretty dang sweet but he earned it!! I would try the sightron 1x scope. I've used a bushnell holo sight and loved it but hated messing with the red dot intensity. I'll sell it if ur interested! Pm me and maybe u can give it a try.

Congrats! I drew that tag at the Hunt Expo 3 years ago. It's a fun hunt.

Vortex came out with a 1X scope that would be my choice. I shot my 330 bull at 225 yards.

Have fun!

Thanks for all the info about the scopes everyone. Who knew they made so many:) I guess I'll have to get looking and decide if I want one or if I'll just stick with a peep.

Congrats on the tag gonhunting247!

There is only 1 NR tag issued for the muzzy tag so no bonus point tag for this hunt correct? I put in for this hunt as well. Just curious as to how many points you had?

Go kill a big one!

Thanks, I had 14 pts. going in I believe. I'm not sure about a bonus pt. tag, I thought there was one though.

There is a NR bonus tag for the Book Cliffs Bitter Creek South, no NR bonus tag for the Book Cliffs roadless unless they added a tag this year in which case we would have both been hunting it this year. Not sure which tag you have but anyway it is all good have a great hunt!
