Looking to blacktail deer hunt in 2016, but here is my dilemma,I don't want to hunt California, any suggestions on where I might have a good hunt and a chance at a draw.

Why not California?
We have some of the biggest bucks around.
Steep nasty hot hunt in A zone.
If you hunt the b zones the weather is better but if you get some rain it's a different story. Bucks everywhere.
I've seen some monsters but never got a shot at one. Hopefully this is my year.

Thanks for the info it will probably be Oregon,I have a friend from Az that lives there too, and he has wanted me to come visit OTC is my kind of tag, I'll put in for draws but I'd rather just be able to go when I want too money isn't always around when tags pop up.

Well as you see there are plenty of options on the table for you but I figured I would just throw out my 2cents and also ask you why not California? Plenty of big blacktail here on both public and private. Just throwing it out there but my archery buck from a few seasons ago was just scored by Roger Selner which was 180 1/2". If you decide on which state you want to hunt I would be more than happy to provide any info I may have.

When you decide to go let me know, I do know some things about hunting Blacktails that may help you out. I wouldn't discount Cali though, there are some monsters that come from there according to the record books. Southern Or has some good one too though.

California does have a lot of nice bucks, that being said I wouldn't want to give my money to a state that is taking away your hunting rights on a regular basis. I don't know why az mtn runner isn't thinking CA, but that may be part of it. Maybe az mtn runner can enlighten us.
Just DIY you must have a pic of that toad, lets see it. Maybe in a different thread as to not jack this one
