What do y'all use to treat Nubuck leather?
I have Lowa Tibet GTX I need to treat!

I use Tibets and use silicone. You can either use the spray or the brush on. Silicone is recommended for Nubuck and will not soften/breakdown the leather or eventually get into the Gortex liner and clog the pores.

I've used Montana Pitch Blend, Skidmore's, and more recently, Kenetrek boot wax. They all work well, the key is to make sure any sort of water proofer gets worked into the leather. Apply it liberally, work it in by hand, give it a quick passover with a hair dryer-this step will help open the pores of the leather and draw it in deeper, and then let dry overnight. Once dry you should be set for a few months of trouble free wearing.

So the wax products won't damage the Nubuck leather?
Do y'all brush out after the wax absorbs?

I don't. Before I ever wear my boots, I cover them with plenty of the Obenauf's wax and rub in well and let em sit for a week or two and maybe hit em again. They are good to go after that. Then I will treat them about once or twice / year after that.

To clean I just hit them with a water hose and maybe use a brush.

Hope that helps

I talked to Patrick at Montana Pitch Blend and he said their wax blend will not harm the Nubuck leather or Goretex liner but it will lay the nap down on Nubuck leather and may darken the leather a bit but no damage.
Stephen at Lathrop and Sons recommends a wax product also
For normal maintenance (Grangers).
Just thought I'd share that.
Thanks for your help fellas you were spot on!

MONTANA Pitch Blend and Obenauf's both are fantastic. Instead of a hair dryer just put them on your PEET boot dryer for 8 hours and then put another coat of boot protector on and repeat. The PEETS boot dryers are very gentle on the leather.

I've used Kenetrek's and Snow Seal, both with good results. Put it on and leave the boots in the sun. Soaks it right up. The soles wear out before the leather does.

I have been using the spray silicon on both pair of my tibets, works great , just make sure they are clean and dry , I used Montana pitch blend on a pair of Kenetrek mtn ext and it softened the leather to a point that it ruined the boots so I haven't tried it since.

To treat Nubuck, go for a Nubuck-specific cleaner and conditioner. Start by brushing off any loose dirt or debris with a Nubuck brush. Then, gently clean with the appropriate product to remove stains and dirt. Finish by applying Nubuck conditioner to maintain that velvety texture.

Remember, Nubuck doesn't like getting soaked, so keep them dry. And steer clear of traditional leather polish or wax; it can ruin the Nubuck's unique feel.

If you're still hunting for more leather care insights, including Nubuck, I've got a suggestion. Dive into vonbaer.com; they've got a wealth of leather wisdom that stands the test of time.
