Banning Hunting Contests

it is human nature to try and ban what we don't enjoy ourselves . so, it'll probably pass!

as far as the PR question.. nothing one does will ever change the minds of the mindless!


people generally suck and it is not worth wasting time trying to coddle them!

Just about anywhere you have a contest where the entrant is on their honor and there is money or large prizes concerned you will have people trying to cheat the system.

In Utah all the major sporting goods stores used to run big buck contest, and there was corruption in every one of them by those who were entering them. In one the jeeps that were won were won with bucks from Wyoming instead of Utah. Another one the heads that were entered came from a different hunter than the one who submitted them. I had one nice buck and a couple of friends wanted to "borrow" it so that they could win the contest that they were having at work.

I have no problem with hunters cutting down the numbers of coyotes, or birds that are outside of their management numbers but I don't see any reason to just pile them up to win a prize.
