Only a few days left to get in for the fall draw. What did everybody put in for? I only put in for Dec rifle deer hunts knowing I probably won't be drawn, but then again I've drawn Sept bull tags two years straight on 1 point so maybe some of that elk luck will rub off on my deer app! I still have an archery tag in my drawer at home so either way I'll be hitting hills!

I can't remember, but just sift through all the HF choices and pick the most obscure sheep unit off their charts. As to deer, I burned max deer points two years ago so switched to a coues unit I might have a chance at. These late season hunts seem like a good winter escape from the Midwest.

Dec Coues Deer for me and if I dont draw Im seriously thinking about the OTC archery hunt in Jan. Escaping the winter blues will be a nice retreat.

Threw my name in for sheep and just points for deer. I'm also looking at a coues hunt next year. Should be getting up there in points far enough to actually have a good chance of drawing.

Put in for a October coues tag. I have a buddy that lives down there and hunts them in October every year. He killed a 130" deer last year so he knows what he is doing. The tag is 100% draw so hopefully I will be hunting coues deer in October.

There's plenty of units and hunts that always have leftovers unless you're trying for a late tag. The non-res cap probably hurts too.

The OTC is fun! Dec and jan combined and I get a solid 6-7 weeks of rut hunting! A friend of mine had this big boy at 40 yards full draw and never got a clear shot...[emoji22]

You need to take up bowhunting, Zim!
I would but I already have for 25 years. 95% of my hunting is with a bow. Usually Sept. elk out west, Oct. & Nov. whitetail here in Illinois. Taken lots of P&Y critters. But by Dec. my 55 year old body is kinda chilled out. So AZ sounds good then, and that is when the Coues rifle seasons are. These hunts seem like a good use of the points. Maybe not in reach at 3 points, but soon. I don't know much about the late season archery opportunities.

The AZ dec archery is OTC for the last 3 weeks of the year. Jan 1 buy a new OTC tag and hunt deer the whole month of Jan! A solid 7+ weeks of chasing coues or mulies!

Yep. AZ is a great place to live if you're an archery hunter. Lots of good OTC units with a long season, although some units only have one or two archery seasons. Will be using the tag I bought last January in Aug and Dec (unless I tag a deer in August of course).

Also, there are no antler restrictions in the units I hunt-so far as I can tell.

Yea I'm waiting for a late hunt. It's a long, long drive for me and plus, I always have tons of other stuff going on during the earlier hunts.

For deer, I'm in for 13B only with max points. I really wanted point only, but all reports are this is definitely a year to have a tag in your pocket. Draw odds will still be terrible though.

For sheep I am in for the blahblah unit and the ooolala unit. Anyone else apply there?

I live on the strip. We've had a real wet spring this year and a fairly mild winter. It should translate into well fed deer and good antler growth.
