Let's see where the bell curve hits across all weapons. I hypothesize the majority of shots are 2-300 yards, but I predict there will be a skewed sub 100 yards.

You said all weapons but I did leave off my archery antelope as these would really shorten the average. My average archery antelope shot average is 20-30 yards. I have taken over 20 rifle antelope and it actually surprised me when I went back to average out my shots. I have actually taken a lot of antelope inside of 200 yards and a few less than 100 yards. My longest was 730 yards (doe) which kicked my average up almost over 200 but I ended up just under 200 for my average. If I eliminate my really close ones and my few really long ones I am very close to the 200 yard range. My best buck ever was right at 400 yards so I still feel the average person should be prepared for longer shots so they don't miss an opportunity.

Rifle = 150 (50 yd to 360)

Archery = 30 (20 to 40)

With a rifle I've most always found it possible to get in close, just a matter of waiting for the right set up.

I hunt water for archery so it's just a matter of my blind/waterhole set up for a given year.

3 with rifle, longest was 218 paces
1 with pistol, 180 paces
never hunted them with a bow(though i want to).
I will say the last one I shot was in 1985. Not many goats in eastern Oklahoma.

I've shot about 50 (maybe more!)since my first one in 1970, all with rifle. Shortest was less than 50 yds, longest 471 in 2012. Most between 100 & 200. I really can't remember exactly how many I actually shot as we used to get up to 5 tags.

I missed a BOONER last year in Nevada fom 90 yards with my rifle. YES, my rifle. BUCK FEVER!!!! HE was a giant goat. 16+ and easily 85+ Biggest goat i had ever seen. I was pissed. Missed another from 80 yards 2 hours later, after 1 hour and 45 minute stock. I was so pissed!!! Went back to camp, check the rifle, and dead on!!! What the HE!!. So later, I was pissed and took a shoot at one at 450 yards. DROPPED DEAD IN HIS TRACK! This one was small. But I learned a lesson, practice, practice, practice. I do with my bow year round. I now shoot my rifle often too. But with the 2 goats ive killed. 1 at 450, the other was 175.

I had to give it my best guess, but in the 40 years since I have been hunting antelope (in Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming) I figure I have shot at least 40+ antelope. Many of those early years you could only get one tag per year, then I was in the military or college where I did not hunt at all, then I tried archery hunting for a few years, and in the past few years I got 2-4 doe tags per year in Wyoming which I filled all, so in all that time I guess I have averaged at least one antelope per year, if not more. My shortest shot was about 25 yards and my longest about 425, and my best guess for the average shot is somewhere around 150-200 yards. As a side note, I always use shooting sticks to help steady my shot, use a range finder to determine the exact distance if you can, know how to compensate for the wind (which can be a major factor on a long shots), and wear knee pads!
