When I was a kid, I used to build model rockets with the C6-7 engines.

I remember finding an old aluminum game-getter arrow (with with a still razor sharp wasp cam-lok) that my old man had shot a deer with. It was bent up a bit so I straightened it out, and electrical taped one of those C6-7 behind the broadhead.

I got me a tube and launched that sucker into atmosphere ~ July 1991 and in ~ November 1991 the neighbor found it in his combine tire a half mile away...he then returned it to its rightful owner....True story. lol

So, in summary, I feel moderately qualified to get to press the button for artemis-1 when they decide to try again....just saying.

I think we just need to bring Colorado Cowboy out of retirement to fix that damn thing!

Out of retirement....hell no! LOL. I was not a big fan of NASA back in the Shuttle days (IMHO they were completely and totally at fault for the 2 Shuttle disasters). Too much politics back then and even more today. I used to tell the NASA guys "Get the hell out of our way so we can do our jobs, it's our bird until we deliver it to you". It's also a different generation building and flying our space hardware and I am woefully behind the times and new technology. I could still go in and kick some butts and get thing straightened out from an operational standpoint, but would stick out like a sore thumb!

I'll stay retired and bitch like hell how screwed up NASA is...thank you!

I wish NASA and their astronauts the very best of luck on this endeavor.
will only add, ten marines could not drag me screaming onto one of their rockets.
I'd rather contract the " deadly" ;) 🤪 covid. lol.

I can't see a whole lot of use the moon will ever be. Perhaps I'm just old. It's such a long way from earth and building anything there would cost so much. There is no reason be there . Even if valuable minerals were just there for the taking it would cost so much to get them back to earth.
I hope they find all the stuff from the Apollo program and shut up the deniers .

The problem is there is no data on long term exposure to solar radiation from the sun. During space travel to and from the moon, the solar radiation is pretty much blocked out. When (if) we colonize Mars, there will be long term exposure to lots of solar radiation. Supposedly a base on the moon will give us the information on what we should find on Mars regarding exposure amounts . The space suits we have now only have limited protection, that is why all the Apollo moon missions had time restrictions on how long they could be exposed.

nothing will shut down the deniers. lol. if one landing can be faked so can another. humans inhabiting other planets is the only path the majority of mankind can see to the continuation of the human race. the bible tells another story, but most will not accept it.
personally, I don't really care either way. go. don't go. I am a man of this world, so I never would. however, I have no objection to the majority of this planet's population going. I have no doubt the world would be a better place without most in/on it.
