looked like the jugular to meGoodness. Was that artery or heart. It didn't look like much penetration. But he bled out quick.
Around second 34-36 it looks like more than a lumonok sticking out.. But I'll agree with the placement. It's a shot I would take in a heart beat. Multiple arteries, spinal, windpipe And behind that is the vital stuff. Definitely a more than lethal zone. That was on the net some time ago. It hit the jugular and I believe on into the heart. The arrow buried all the way to the luminok, so I fail to understand the previous comment about poor penetration. It's not a shot I would take, but some say the frontal shot into the heart/lung area is as good as a broadside shot. I'll leave the shot to them however!
I consider myself a good shot and competent archer. That said I won't take this shot unless I have an elk at extremely close range- say less than 20 yards and I don't believe the animal will offer any better shot. I think this video shows a best case scenario for this shot angle and any error will result in a wounded animal.I guess from what all the dedicated archers that have seen that video are saying, if you're up close enough and 100% confident that you can put that arrow between the front legs and on into the chest cavity it's obviously a deadly shot. I'm not in that category and would never attempt it!
