I'm in AZ and I don't bother with antelope here.
I'm trying to get a sheep tag, just once, before I die. I figure I have twenty years of hunting left off I can take care of myself. I retire in just over ten years. AZ, I'm a resident, doesn't appeal to me in the way they do their draw. I run to WY for antelope. At least there I can take a few does and better stock the freezer.
To me AZ is doable for deer, elk, and maybe sheep in their convoluted draw system.

One thing to also consider- Most Wyoming residents refuse to enter animals into any kind of record book. It is almost a code that you don't want to advertise your trophy areas for fear it will go down hill from there. I personally know of a 90 inch buck that was never entered and several others that would be in the 90 inch range that the hunter refused to have the antelope scored. I'm guessing that Wyoming has produced a tremendous amount of 80-90" animals that were never entered.

I don't think you should stop applying in Arizona but I believe you can find the trophy of a lifetime with less than 5 points in Wyoming. Take a look at Out West Safaris web site. These are antelope taken in an area with "limited" public access. This area, like many others, has enough public to hunt. You just need to do your homework and pay attention to where you are. Few people are willing to do this so the animals get big... IMO, there are many areas like this in Wyoming that hold 85+" antelope that can be hunted with out a guide.

90" is rare but how many of us can really tell the difference between 85 and 90??

VERY TRUE! I've never even hunted antelope and I don't really know how to score them. I just know some have that WOW factor. When you see them you just know it's big. I applied and will continue unless they negatively change the non-resident draw or increase the fees. WY is definitely at the top of my list and I'm collecting points there. Playing the points game in NV and CO as well.
