Arizona 6B late elk hunting

My son got an Arizona 6B late elk tag so we are doing research and are wondering if anybody is familiar with the area and would be willing to help. My son is 16 and I am doing most of the research, hoping to have a great time with my son out there. I don’t think we will have time to scout during the summer but we are planning to get there about four days before the opening day to do some scouting as he will be having Thanksgiving break. I haven’t checked yet but am wondering if any other OTC species would have an open season in the area worth buying a tag for.

Any help will be appreciated.

Get an archery otc deer tag & get a feel for the unit. Also check with Flatline maps & see if they have a map for this unit
well worth the money if they do. Good luck to your son make memories & don't put to much pressure on killing an elk

Thank you very much! Map is on its way. I purchased Mytopo map but I don't like them very much. Looks Flatline make great maps, unfortunately they have just some Arozona units, hopefully they will extend their area.

Bghunter, just moved from Az after 26yrs returning to my home state of Colorado. Have hunted elk, deer, and turkey with success in all mentioned in 6b. As far as maps, Flatline has a 6b map... Go to their website and buy one. I think those maps are about $40 but worth. Flatline Maps are located in Prescott Valley, Az. PM me if I can be of any help with the unit. I got that map, my topo map and onxmaps chip. Spent some time on google earth as well. Do you know any good packers in the area?
