While bow hunting deer last year I had a unique opportunity to shoot a wood duck. My tree stand sits about 30 yards from a small creek. Shortly after getting in the stand for an afternoon sit, a small flock of wood ducks landed right in my shooting lane on the creek crossing. I always have a practice arrow with me so decided to try a shot. The arrow hit perfectly. The entrance side wasn't too bad (side shown) but the opposite side was a mess. The taxidermist did a great job covering up the holes- The entrance is the white tuft on the left edge of the tan feathers. This is the same taxidermist that did my sons deer I posted a couple weeks ago.
