My son went goose hunting this morning and sent me a picture of his broken gun at about 7:30. This is a Barretta A400 outlander that is 2 years old and I don’t think he’s shot more than 5 boxes of shells through it. It fired 3 shells at the first group and broke in two pieces (literally) on his second shot at the next group. Does anyone have an idea what could have caused this? I am calling Beretta on Monday morning but that is a pretty scary deal. No one got hurt and luckily he didn’t pull the trigger a third time. The stock came completely off the guns and was in two pieces in his handsDFD50AB4-74D8-4C48-9CB1-22C52E4F0F43.jpeg2C5C78FD-7917-40F0-9FCF-1FC0362058B4.jpegDFD50AB4-74D8-4C48-9CB1-22C52E4F0F43.jpegD783063D-1DDA-4740-851B-230B4447EB73.jpeg

Looks to me that it was a faulty part. The butt stock is attached to the action with a long bolt or screwed in sleeve. It is usually seviced thru the end of the stock. Did you take off the recoil pad? There probably is a piece of the broken part there.

Glad no one was hurt. I'm sure that surprised your son when he pulled the trigger and came up with two pieces of the shotgun in his hands.

Cant say I have seen that but I have not had a lot of experience with Beretta firearms in my life.

Hopefully they will repair it for him!
