In preparation for a few hunts in the upcoming years I contacted midwesthunt. Has anyone else used these people?
I had mixed feelings after talking to the guy and I would like to talk to someone who has personally used them.

Please PM me or a number I can reach you at. I have a few questions.

Thanks

Well....let me just cut through the mud and say that isn't happening.

There is more to the story that I am not posting on here until I personally talk to someone who has been involved with them.

So I am now going this route. lol

I'm going on my second year. My first year I killed my first Rio and a very nice KS whitetail, not a giant but good for 3 days worth of hunting and no scouting.
I have have hunted less than 10 days on their property, all KS, so my experience is limited. I did hear about some bad experiences in MO for gun deer, but overall this organization is very straight forward and no frills.
It's a bit of a drive for me to access the properties so I'm not sure it's something I will continue for the long haul but for the cost of my first year I feel like it was a very good bargain. Since I might only get to whitetail hunt one state this year (due to scheduling on my part) it might not be so advantageous.
Hit me up with your concerns as I will be openly honest.

I don't know if you have ever been on a lease or not. I went from hunting timberland and open private land in the NE to leases in the south. There is a world of difference between the two.

Remember that they guy is in it to make money.

He's not a guide and can not control the actions of the other hunters - I'll not get into my stories but let's just say that lying, cheating, stealing, and overall blocking strategies have been used against me on EVERY lease I've been on - EVERY one. It gets to a point where you don't talk to anyone, don't share cam pictures or stand locations, and use cams to watch your stands. Or you can hunt public land and deal with that.

My take on those organizations and leases are that the lease holder and his buddies do fine, the rest are left to fight over the scraps.

Honestly guys, the only thing I can truly comment to is that the guy was extremely rude to me over the phone.

Not sure who you talked to but I have not experienced that. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe he was trying to run you off, regardless it's no excuse to be rude.
It's your first impression of the organization, so stick with your gut.

Rich, are your experiences related to Midwesthunt, or other leases?
