Hey Mike, how's the moisture situation looking up in your area? I was surprised to hear you say you go way down past Riverton for goats. Is the population not very good up in the Basin area on west up where you're at?

Has your experience been in 114?
No, I was talking about Wyoming ranchers in general. The license plate on the truck is what they look at first, then they USUALLY expect some money. Not all do, but one such rancher told me that If a guy can afford to take an out-of-state hunting trip they can also afford a "Trespass Fee". That fee is usually based on weather or not the critter has any headgear. That's what I've experienced.

Another reason to drive an old truck so you look broke and dont get charged so much. As long as the plate aint from california its not to bad. lol. I dont mind paying $100 to anyone that lets me shoot anything on their ranch. They have to feed the animal and they are letting you use their property and its definitively worth something!

My first Goat shot on opening morning in 114. First Antelope hunt ever. I saw bigger goats than this one and if given more time, would have waited for something a bit taller. As it was, this guy still comes in a shade over 70" gross P&Y. Lots of mass and decent cutters helped out. Couldn't be more pleased. Public ground.

Congratulations, that looks like a good one, especially for a first. You should be proud.
