I wouldn't get too excited on 26 or 29 for access. Both are slim pickins. 27 has plenty, but that unit takes a few points.We were across the highway in 26, 27, and 29 last weekend. Lots of public land and lots of antelope. Bet it gets crazy during the season.
I suppose it's got something to do with perspective. We are from Eastern South Dakota so it seems like a lot of public land to us. 7 has enough to get the job done, but it's still going to require some bouncing around between sections, as with any easier draw unit.
Been really, really dry up there for sometime. If you can find a windmill on public you'll be alright, but most water is on private.I suppose it's got something to do with perspective. To those familiar with the area, is being this dry this early normal? There is a little water around, but sure not a lot.
The north east is playing catch up, take a lot more than this to make things right.Looks to be getting some moisture out of this system. I would say that's a good thing.
