Hmmm...I was wondering if anyone was gonna start a thread on this area. I drew it also on the recommendation of a buddy who lives in Elko. I have driven through the area on my way to hunt for antelope on the Owyhee a couple of years ago. It looks like great country but I don't think it is one of Nevada's most popular areas for antelope. But then again...I don't think you can rule any part of Nevada out for trophy potential. I think scouting will be critical to find a trophy buck.

I am new here too and respect the Razzing!

I had this tag last year and filled it opening day no scouting and I was in a hurry as I had a sick kid at home. My brother has this tag this year.

It was my first time hunting pronghorn but what stuck out to me was I saw 6-8 bucks that day all were solo (including the one took) except for one who was the biggest I saw.

I had an excellent hunt this year and was fortunate enough to get mine opening day. It seemed the antelope were already rutting with many of the bucks herding does and running off the little guys. I passed on about 13 bucks before I settled on this guy. With the help of my two good buddies Rich and Norm we had a great time. I hope everyone else did well too. That is certainly beautiful country and I will definitelyP8220112.jpg apply for that tag again.

Nice buck! Thanks for sharing even though it appears you didn't get any help from the forum. I bet next time you have a question you get a lot more help.
