I have a chance to hunt grizzly over bait in the interior part of Alaska, for a very reasonable price I think, has anyone ever done a hunt like this? Would you do it again? What do these hunts normally cost?
We used to take are 28ft hard top guide boats down the Yukon and up the Koyukuk River to hunt moose. We also had a Brown bear Tag or two. When we got the moose we built a hanging pole on the other side of the river to hang are meat and would have a rifle set up so when a bear showed up we would shoot it. The grass was so tall that walking around was pretty risky of finding one in your face. We did get bears doing that so over bait you'd have a pretty good chance of getting one, maybe even a wolf. Never paid any guides so i cant speak for that.
I've been lucky enough to go on a couple of these type of hunts. It was a lot of fun. I will definitely do it again if we have a chance. I have relatives in AK and I just hunt with them, so I don't know what a guided hunt would cost. Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.
