Very cool to see them taking care of the caribou birds and decreasing the predators. It doesn’t seem to happen that way match anymore.

Ya. Let’s kill some more bears to increase the caribou population. Great idea.

Meanwhile, back in the village.

Does anyone know if the government gave the natives the bear meat so they could survive the winter?

True, we need to send our CPW Commissioners to AK to learn some lessons about wolves.
Have you ever heard about any feedback from Colorado's CP&W about the project that they were doing north of Rifle in units 32 and 33 I believe where they were trying to decrease the bear and mountain lion populations? This started a few years ago and I have not heard a thing about it since.

I googled "Colorado CP&W Killing Bears and Lions" and came up with a couple of pages of newspaper articles.

These included lawsuits brought to stop it by a number of different organizations. I got tired of looking at all of them and never did see anything if they actually started it or if it accomplished anything.

Different wolves, but Jaden Bales has a good article coming that will talk about GYE wolf populations and hunting. Really well written piece that puts some pretty interesting perspective on their populations.
