Hi Umpqua Hunter,

I am going to take as many photos as possible. Besides a photo of, prayerfully, a huge bull that I've killed, I'd love to get photos of two massive bulls fighting it out.

When you're drawn, are you going to hire a guide?

I will get up there a week prior. The season opens on Sept 13 & closes on Sept 21.

BTW, I've sent you a PM. I need a little more advice.

Thanks.

My current plan is to do it on my own. I have a personal goal to kill a 370+ bull on my own sometime in my life. I'd like to draw on a year I can invest a lot of time into the hunt.

Returned your PM

SansSouci,
If you're considering outfitters... Black Timber Outfitters is big in San Jaun. I have no first experience. I think you pay$$ for them. Last year I hunted with High Top Outfitters in another area but I know they hunt San Juan as well. Less expensive but dedicated.

With that tag... If you don't have time to properly scout you might consider a guide. You're not going to get a second chance at that hunt!
