This was my first elk, got her in NM in 2008. 19 yards.

This was my first bull. NM also. September 2009. 34 yard quartering away shot.

Probably won't be able to swing NM again this year. Just got accepted into Sonoma State University so time will be tight. My dad and I have a pile of bonus points for NV muleys so we should draw tags there (80-something% chance). Then it's CA blacktails as always, possibly OR for bear, and a little whitetail action in GA around Christmas time.

I see your a PSE guy also, you can read an article about one of my blacktails from last season on the PSE website.

Wow, now that's a great bull. Congratulations and keep it going. Thanks for posting the pics. Also, the cow is great too. I get a cow every year and it's the best tasting meat in the freezer.

Thanks guys! The cow tasted great, but the bull is actually just as good. I burgered about half of it, and did steaks with the other half. I ran each and every steak through the Hobart cuber twice, once each direction. They turned out really good and extremely tender. My bull should be done at the Taxi any time now so I'll put up some pics of it when I get him back.

do you have any nv elk points? where are you heading for deer?
I wish... I could use about a dozen elk points over there. I usually only apply for deer and antelope over there, but from now on I'm gonna make better use of the license fee and start putting points for everything in the bank.
