Once again. This "old school" powder is proving its worth on my reloading shelf.

Put a new Leupold scope on his Steyr rifle for him.

Good enough for me at 100 yards. Certainly good enough for my wife's uncle who never shoots over 200 yards anyhow.

Group on left was out of a Steyr 7MM Group on right was out of a Browning A-bolt.

139 Grain HNDY SPBT INTERLOCKS
56 grains - Max Load

Lesser grains would not group at all...Probably because of the case volumetrics with IMR 4064.

Tighter groups would be nice but I dotn have the time to play with seating depths and things like that at this time. But I do feel like I have something that will kill a deer.

On another note: What a hunk of crap that Steyr is....

That browning, like all Browning's is a sweetie to shoot. It has a ported barrel and there is nearly 0 recoil with it.

I reload for my son-in-law's 7 magnum, and just as an experiment I used some IMR 4064 that I use in my 30.06. I looked up some loads in my older manuals for 140 gr. loads and was surprised that he got -1" groups @ 100yds. Never looked any farther, he was tickled.

I just like having one powder sitting on my bench that is used across the spectrum of the rifles I have. I even use in in my 300 WSM and it shoots VERY well.

Maybe one day I will branch out. I do have a one pound can of Reloader 15 I picked up.:D

I use IMR 4064 in my .243, .308, 30.06, and .375 H&H mag. Works great in all of them. I'm not looking to squeeze the most velocity out of any of my rifles. They all seem to shoot just fine with 4064.
