That's why I 've used Nosler Partition bullets in my .300 Wby and Sierra Game Kings in my 30-06 & 25-06.........they ain't broke. All I've used.

The 7 is my favorite caliber. I've taken from coyote to elk with it. Just got a Best of the West 7MM this year and my uncle took his elk with it in October with 168 grain Berger VLDs. Like others have said, ammo is pretty easy to find and can take anything down.

I have two of them and am looking for a third. Does everything that I need from killing deer to elk. I have never had to chase a wounded animal yet.

Well made rifle will last a lifetime. There is absolutely no need for me to purchase another rifle in addition to my 30-06 and 7MAG. Heck, I could probably sell either and be just fine. But I do like having a "backup" just in case.
Gun manufacturers are always creating newer and better...and marketing the crap out of them...encouraging us to "want" something new, and to spend our hard earned $$.
That said, if I won the lottery, you can be damn sure I'd be ordering a custom build, left handed, stainless, ____ caliber ultra-light mountain rifle. Not because I really need such a gun, but because, well, it would be fun to have : )
But first I would order myself a brand new, 2500HD Chevy 4x4 LTZ, Duramax/Allison crew cab pickup. Again, don't "need" a new truck...but it would be damn fun.

I took my first elk this fall with my Browning Long Range Hunter using 145 LRX at 3,200 f/s.
One shot and drop- right through the heart.
Bullet performed exactly the way I had hoped. 1.5x entrance hole and golf ball size hole exit.
I had similar results on 2 mulies & 1 antelope this fall as well. I've never been disappointed with any bullet I've used, and I've tried them all. However, the LRX seem to perform best on game for me. Doesn't hurt they are all copper so I'm good to hunt anywhere. Also the lighter cooper bullet is equivalent to the heavier lead bullets. Seems like a win-win to me.

Is there any difference in reloading for a belted mag? I know the headspace is measured differently but is the process the same otherwise?

X3...my 300 WBY reloads just as easy as my 270. Once you shoot it once out of your rifle the belt is of no concern anyway as you should only neck-size from then on to prolong case life. IMO reloading is like building a house, start with a solid foundation, brass is very important.
No laughing from me. I've used Core-Lokt ammo for 99.999% of all my hunting since I bought my 7RM back in 1980 and have never had any ammo related failures. The majority of my kills have also been with one shot.

Those Core-Lokt shells from Remington have killed a lot of animals in their time.

After the initial firing in your rifle, headspace off the shoulder and not the belt. I don't own a 7RM, but I do shoot four other belted rifles. On these rifles, I pump the shoulder back 0.001-0.002" when sizing, that's it, and no more. If you don't have headspacing set in your reloading gear, it is time you purchase one. I pretty valuable piece of equipment in my opinion.
Also, one other piece of equipment regarding belted mags that has come in handy twice now is this gem of a tool. http://www.larrywillis.com/ Belted Magnum Collet Sizing Die If you use your brass enough, you might need it in the future. I had a 300 Win Mag that is now down the road, but it needed the brass ran through it after about 5-6 firings. I have used it once on some 375 H&H brass after the 3rd reloading.

There's nothing wrong with the 7mm Mag and it should serve you well on many hunts.

I can't make up my mind just yet, I'm wanting either a 7 mag, 300 wsm, or swap my current 308 for a different one. For some reason I'm really wanting the 300 wsm but the rifle I'm looking to possibly get is only offered in 300 win mag and 7mag and I'm just not sure I want the full 300 lol

And before someone says it, I've ruled out the 30-06 already. I want something with more punch than that but not so much that I won't enjoy shooting it.

Go with the .300 Win mag.
It is my personal opinion but I believe that the short mag craze will die out and if you don't reload you may have a hard time finding ammo.
