I wish I had pics of the big boy. By no means am I saying I'm remotely unhappy with this guy, he's amazing but I was chasing what I would estimate as a 330-340 6x6. I saw him broadside on a hill top bugling back to my cow call, sunlight on him, ruling the roost! I tried to pull him over the ridge for 3 days. The unit I was in boardered a managed unit I couldnt hunt. The elk would cross over into my unit at night to water, wallow and bed down. He just wouldn't budge but this guy walked in one night and it was an easy decision.
Thankfully we were able to get in pretty easily as he ran uphill and dropped about 35yds from a fence line we could access. I was prepared to pack him out but....it was a lucky evening. Can't wait to get him back and put him on the wall.
Thanks for all the kind words. It's great to see all the other posts from guys having success and to be able to share my own with everyone.
