The older I get the more fun 6.5x47 lapuas, 6.5 creedmoors and my old 6.5-06 look lol. Just not a speed guy anymore.

If you look at load data for the .30x378 you will see that it will push a 130 gain bullet at close to 3800fps out of a 26" barrel.

Now drop that 130 grain bullet down to a 130 grain 6.5 and I am sure that you could push 4000fps.

The older I get the more fun that I think that one of these type of chamberings would be.
Odds are the 30 cal will push a 130 faster than a 6.5 cal, all being equal but the bore size. But I get what you are saying. It?d be fast.

couple of notes...

speed lovers of the 270wsm... the 300wsm with 150s will do more than the 270/150, of course 270/130 may be a tad faster than the 300/150, but the 300wsm needs less barrel length to get'er done than the 270/130.

on paper what I'm liking about the 6.5PRC is...
beats the 6.5creed in speed, to me less than 3000fps is kinda slow....ie...2700-2800...
it's still a short action, high BC, and smaller than the WSM.

now I'm debating a 300wsm w/ 150-165 vs. 6.5 PRC with 143. I think both may be needed!

to me the 6.5prc would replace the 270win, a long action cartridge, although you can get away with a 22" barrel, though some like 24"
the 6.5prc though seems to beg for a 24" barrel, but still a nice package.

300wsm in a 23-24.5" barrel.

who can decide!? choose both! lol.
