I would agree- there were some pretty big jumps in some areas. 2-3 point increases in some areas I watch. I think a guy is going to have to play the game in multiple states if he wants to hunt yearly. Or just move to Wyoming...

I used my max points (13) for my buck deer tag. Probably never draw another one as I'll be 78 this year. I also drew a buck antelope, luckily it takes far fewer to draw one of those. This whole point deal has gotten out of hand even in my home state of Colorado it's getting to be a bitch to draw the tag you want.

I am seeing the same thing in the areas we were shooting for...though 5pts would get it but took 7 to make it happen...on to Plan B...As soon as I figure out what Plan B is...HA!

It is getting crazy. The unit I put in for antelope you could of drawn it last year with 6 points this year it took 8.

I have been lucky enough to get a general elk tag for Wyoming this year. Although its a general tag it feels like I won the lottery and I am beyond ecstatic for the chance to hunt this great state!

I believe the only way that could happen is if his payment was rejected for ISF?? Could be wrong though.
I have been seeing guys spend a lot more points than necessary the last few years. I'm guessing it happens for various reasons. A guy I heard about cashed max points for a lesser tag because he got ill and just wanted to hunt with friends.

The unit I hunted antelope in last year was 100% as a 2nd choice and 36% odds as a 3rd choice. This year it was 3.5% odds as a 2nd choice. No antelope hunting for me this year

Something is def up-and its not odds-just took a quick glance at the report for reduced price deer tags and the two units we applied for had markedly poorer odds in 2019 over 2018. We made a strategic decision to pick one unit over the other as 1st choice, since it typically had worse odds than our 2nd, which had a 'history' of making it to the leftover list. It was a wise choice-but only due to luck. Our 2nd choice had a huge increase in applicants and wasn't even viable as a 2nd choice this draw or will make it the leftover list. All I can say is, "Wow".

Unsuccessful here on doe antelope but last year's odds were only 50% this year that dropped to less than 40.
WY will get another hundo+ from me when I buy my points again this year but after next year's license purchase it may be the last. It's beginning to be a sport for the rich and not for just enthusiasts like some of us.
